For my whole life, specifically my school career, I have experienced
anti-semitism here and there. This is usually around the Jewish holidays
when the school doesn't have homework, practice, etc.. Most of the comments
are sparked by ignorance, lack of education, and to be honest, immaturity.
And yes as a 15 year old, I still have some maturing to do. But I would
never and will never use it as an excuse to hate.

Though over the past school year, anti-semitism started to become an issue.
A little over a month into the school year, October 2022, was when it
started. The reason I remember that is because of Kanye West. Being in 8th
grade, over 85% of the grade listened and followed Kanye West. Including
me. I knew all of the words to many of his songs, I followed him on
Instagram, long story short - he was my favorite artist. Music is very
therapeutic to me, and I listen to it all the time. So that meant I
listened to him all the time.

After what he tweeted about the Jewish people, I didn't think much of it. I
was obviously very angry, but I didn't think it would affect me outside of
the music I listened to. It did. The comments went from happening around
only the Jewish holidays, to happening everyday. And even worse, the
comments went from ignorance and lack of education, to disrespect and hate.
Almost everyday I would come home and tell my parents about the issues.
They told me it doesn't matter how much you want to react, ignore what they
say. After doing that for 3/4 of the school year, I realized that no matter
how many things they say, or how harsh their comments get, they will never
win. Close to the end of the year, I was talking to my Dad about how they
will never win.

We both came to the agreement that hate never wins.
Me and my Dad both decided that we wanted to start an organization to
spread awareness for hate, and teach anyone who is willing what hatred is,
and how it is affecting our world today. There are plenty of organizations
spreading consciousness for specific hate, like the Black Lives Matter
movement, the Stop Asian Hate movement, the promotion of the LGBTQ+
community, and plenty more. My Dad and I are creating this platform to
combine all of the issues that hate creates in the world, into one place:
Hate Never Wins.

Together in ending hate,
Max Karlyn
